Message from MASS President, Leland Stocker

Making All Schools Successful

by Promoting School Leadership

Welcome to the Montana Association of School Superintendents!

You are reading this page because you have accepted the mission offered: to lead your school district. We want to make your mission possible through one of the most supportive organizations that you will have the opportunity of joining. You will quickly find that membership has its privileges. The first thing I want to convey is that you are not alone. We are all pushing the same paperwork and the monthly regional meetings help with that task. There are nine in the state and you will find them lively and sometimes, spirited. There are two statewide meetings: one in the fall (Bozeman) and one in the spring (Helena). You will find these high quality professional development opportunities. The National Conference of Educational Leadership sponsored by the American Association of School Administrators will be held in Los Angles, California. This provides an outstanding experience to meet your unique district leader needs. The President Elect, Tony Kloker tonykl@metnet.mt.gov, has set a goal of forty Montanans attending. Let’s not disappoint him!

Feel free to contact us: Leland Stocker stockerl@havre.k12.mt.us, president or Jason Butcher jbutcher@lewistown.k12.mt.us, past president. We’re here to help, listen and respond to our members and continue to move our districts and our MASS organization forward!

Looking forward to leading with you this school year!

Let’s Go!
