MASS 2011-14 Goals 

GOAL #1:  Increase the number of educators who want to become Superintendents.

Goal #2:   MASS technological communication improvements.     

  • Improved communication with membership
  • Increased links and relationships between communities and schools

Goal #3:  Work with the University System and Departments of Education to address the need for highly qualified teachers.

2006-2007 Goals and Action Plan:

 

Goal #1: 

Help solve school funding issue by increasing legislative opportunities.

Action #1:       Develop a MASS message to legislators by September 2006

                                                         Jerry Pease

                                                         Bruce Messinger

 Action #2:       MASS members will be assigned to develop one-on-one relationship with legislative candidates and elected legislators. 

 

Goal #2:

Professional Development and training for MASS membership.

Action #1:       Survey MASS membership through Zoomerang to find out the following:

*MASS board will provide input about survey questions to Darrell and Julie.  Survey will be completed by December, 2006.

1.      What training is needed?

2.      What training has impact in the field?

3.      What types of training are missing?

4.      What are the contemporary issues?

5.      How is the training best delivered?

a.      regionally

b.      through technology

c.      attending conferences

d.      utilizing the university system

 

Goal #3:

Increase active involvement in MASS

Action #1:       Contact all new superintendents and connect them to MASS.

 

Action #2:       Identify absent and inactive members.  Make personal contact and do outreach by regional president or designee.

 

Action #3:       Move regional meeting locations near inactive members.

 

Action #4:       Design regional meeting agendas for membership interests.  Collaborate with members to plan agendas.

 

Goal #4:

Support for fellow administrators through ongoing mentoring and support.  

 Action #1:       Add questions to the membership survey to find out about the following:

1.      Supports needed by members.

2.      Supports lacking.

3.      A system for delivering support.

 Action #2:       Ongoing education for membership about the existing SAM mentor program structure.

Action #3:       MASS leaders extend outreach to new members.

 

Action #4:       By September develop a list of ‘experts’ available by district.   

 

Action #5:       Use MASS website to offer expertise to members.
