ARTICLE I - PROCEDURE
Section 1: Robert's Rules of Order (Revised) shall govern all meetings of the Association.
ARTICLE II - AMENDMENTS TO BYLAWS
Section 1: Bylaws may be adopted or amended at any regularly scheduled meeting by a majority vote of the members present and voting, provided 30 day notice requirements are met.
ARTICLE III - MEETINGS
Section 1: Business meetings of this Association shall be held in conjunction with the School Administrators of Montana annual meeting at the Montana Conference of Educational Leadership and the spring meeting of the Association.
ARTICLE IV - DUES
Section 1: The annual dues for active membership shall be recommended by the Executive Board and approved by the membership at the regular spring meeting. For dues purposes the school year shall be July 1 of a calendar year to June 30 of the next calendar year.
Section 2: Annual dues for associate membership shall be recommended by the Executive Board and approved by the membership.
Section 3: There shall be no dues for senior membership.
ARTICLE V - COMMITTEES
Section 1: Certain committees shall be appointed by the President of the organization to facilitate the performance of the Association. Specific committees may be added or discontinued from time to time as the President and the Executive Board find advisable.
a. Nominating Committee
The nominating committee, as directed by the immediate Past President shall be responsible for
the nomination of candidates for offices at the spring business meeting held in conjunction with
the Montana Association of Secondary School Principals Conference.
b. Election Committee
The election committee shall be responsible for preparing the ballot, conducting the election,
counting the votes cast, and reporting the results.
c. Retirement Committee
The retirement committee as headed up by the Second Vice-president shall contact people for
the purpose of identifying retiring members and arranging for appropriate presentations of letter
packets and plaques at the Annual Banquet held during the Montana Association of Secondary
School Principals Conference in the spring. One member of this committee should be from each
membership region. Awards shall be coordinated with the President and the Executive Director.
d. Regional Committees
Each of the six regions listed below shall have responsibility for specific committee topics as
assigned by the Executive Board. The regions are divided by county (with some adjustments due
to geography or tradition) as follows:
1. Region 1
Flathead, Granite, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, Missoula, Powell, Ravalli and Sanders Counties;
2. Region 2
Blaine, Cascade, Choteau, Fergus, Glacier, Hill, Judith Basin, Lewis and Clark (north), Liberty, Petroleum, Pondera, Teton and Toole Counties;
3. Region 3
Beaverhead, Broadwater, Deer Lodge, Gallatin, Jefferson, Lewis and Clark (south), Madison, Meagher, Park, Silver Bow, and Sweetgrass Counties;
4. Region 4
Daniels, Dawson, Garfield, McCone, Phillips, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan and Valley Counties;
5. Region 5
Carter, Custer, Fallon, Powder River, Prairie, Rosebud, Treasure and Wibaux Counties;
6. Region 6
Big Horn, Carbon, Golden Valley, Musselshell, Stillwater, Wheatland and Yellowstone Counties.
e. Ad Hoc Committees
Ad hoc committees will be appointed by the President as needs arise.
