MASSP President's Message

Thank you for allowing me to serve as the MASSP President for the 2019-2020 school year. I am very excited to work with you and look forward to assisting you in any way possible. I know each of you are involved in a tireless effort to endorse a positive school and community culture geared toward student success!

As I register and meet new students and families that have moved into the Frenchtown School District I am often asked, “How do I have a positive school experience or how will my son or daughter find success in your school?” I almost always reply, “Get involved. It starts by doing! Participate in extra-curricular activities, join clubs, get connected and be part of the school community.”

I believe the same is true for us as principals. To find success we must be involved! Attend extra-curricular activities, be present at your school events, reach out and meet parents and get involved with your community. However, the work does not stop inside our community. We must get involved with the professional development opportunities provided by the School Administrators of Montana. Attend your regional principal meetings! Participation in these two events has helped me grow immensely as a professional. As I mentioned, success starts by doing, connecting, networking and being involved.

I commend the work of secondary principals all across the state. You play a critical role in the success of the students and staff in your buildings. It is my wish for all of you to have “the best school year ever!”

Do Better Be Better!

Jake Haynes, MASSP President
