The award is sponsored by the Montana Association of School Superintendents (MASS).

Ms. Lacey has served as the Superintendent of Great Falls Public Schools (GFPS) since 2013.  She began her career in education as an elementary teacher for GFPS.  After earning her Masters Degree in Educational Administration, she was employed as an elementary principal in Fairfield before becoming principal of Loy Elementary in Great Falls. She served as Human Resources Director for GFPS before becoming superintendent.  Ms. Lacey continues to display her dedication to education each day through her tireless effort of advocating for Montana’s public school children.

The Montana Association of School Superintendents (MASS), in collaboration with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), annually recognizes and rewards the outstanding leadership of school superintendents.  This program seeks to honor those strong Montana school district leaders who work successfully with their entire learning communities to provide the highest quality education that is possible.

Now in its 31st year, the National Superintendent of the Year program, sponsored by ARAMARK Education, VALIC and AASA, pays tribute to the talent and vision of the men and women who lead the nation’s public schools.  Ms. Lacey is eligible for the National Superintendent of the Year Award and will be honored at the AASA Convention in Nashville in February 2018.  During MCEL Ms. Lacey was also awarded the prestigious G.V.
